Ayurveda translates as “science of life” and is a brilliant practice of medicine from India, primarily focused on diet and preventative care. It is the oldest living form of medicine in the world and is ultimately concerned with balance...of the self, the family, community, continent, world. Food, movement, wise action/speech/thoughts and dispelling stress are of primary importance. It is a medicine of the people. From an Ayurvedic perspective, our digestion must be strong and vital for health in the body and mind. Spirit thrives on good medicine too. I have been practicing Ayurveda under the tutelage of masters Dr. Vasant Lad and Pratichi Mathur since 1998. I practice nutrition and the use of herbs and supplements from both eastern and western perspectives. We take your specific needs into account. I offer recipes, guidelines and success strategies, along with grow-it-yourself help. I have helped many clients with hard to treat issues, including IBS, chronic fatigue and other auto-immune diseases, infertility, anxiety, etc. I offer 1-2 hour Ayurvedic, herbal and dietary consultations to determine your ideal foods, stress reduction, movement practice, ways of approaching food and supplements, healing past trauma, and planning and succeeding in living well. I offer cleanses and purification practices to start fresh and develop good habits. Move beyond fad diets/lifestyles and begin to enjoy stability in your relationship with what is inside of you. Enlighten yourself to choosing your best fuel and hone your body’s ideal “diet”. You might be surprised what you CAN do! I experience feeding ourselves as a potent sensual act that provides us with what our bodies want and need. Our minds receive nutrition from our bodies. Foods feed. Or not. We have the choice. Here in California, we can eat largely anything we can imagine. This is one of the most important health choices we make. Each meal. Everyday. Choose wisely. Start now! I am happy to help. May all be well nourished. May all be in peace.
